The Karnataka State Ginger Growers Association has asked the ginger growers to wait until the government opens procurement centres and not to sell ginger at low prices, yielding to any rumours that ginger prices will not rise further.
Girish Kumar of the association told reporters here on Monday that in the coming days, the price of the ginger will rise and no farmer should sell their ginger for less than Rs 4,290 per quintal. A memorandum was submitted to the government to fix a suitable price for ginger on January 9.
