Dedicated chairs sought for Vaishnavite scholars

EDUCATIONISTS on Wednesday demanded establishment of dedicated chairs on Sridhara Swami and Baladeva Vidyabhushana, two revered Vaishnavite scholars from Balasore, at Fakir Mohan University, and a Paippalada Tradition chair at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada.
The demand was put forth during the 5th Eastern India Oriental conference which concluded at the Fakir Mohan University on the day. Inaugurating the concluding session, MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi emphasised the enduring value of Sanskrit, the Vedas, and their relevance to modern scientific understanding.
