Bari MLA charged with assaulting block official

BARI MLA and BJD leader Biswaranjan Mallick has been accused of physically assaulting a junior revenue assistant and making caste-based derogatory remarks.
The incident came to fore after Amar Ranjan Nayak, the junior revenue assistant at Bari block office, filed a formal complaint with Bari Ramachandrapur police station on Tuesday.
As per the complaint, at about 12.45 pm on Monday, Nayak was called to Bari block chairman office chamber by MLA Mallick. When he reached the office, the MLA was sitting there along with the block chairman, vice chairman and some of his workers.
