FORMER Miss Puducherry and popular model San Rachel (26) died on Saturday night, while undergoing treatment at JIPMER, weeks after she allegedly attempted suicide on June 5.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the fashion and influencer community, where she was known for her bold stance against colourism and her outspoken advocacy for inclusivity in the beauty industry.
Sankarapriya alias San Rachel, a native of Puducherry, had married fashion designer Satya in June 2024. According to police sources, she was allegedly under financial and personal stress over the past few months. Investigators revealed that she had attempted to end her life during a visit to her father's house in Karamanikuppam, Cuddalore.
