Trainees struggle to clear IT firms' assessment tests
The New Indian Express Mysuru
|February 11, 2025
AS IT companies have adopted stringent assessment processes, a large number of trainees are failing to clear the test, thereby losing their jobs.
After two-and-a-half years' wait, many campus recruits got their jobs in Infosys in October last year, but 490 of them from the 2022 batch were laid off last week from Mysuru campus.
Infosys in a statement said freshers get three attempts to clear the assessment; failing which they will not be able to continue with the organization.
A couple of trainees this newspaper spoke to said it was a stringent assessment and that there was no mention of three attempts in their offer letters.
Have IT firms' assessments changed over the years? No, say HR experts.
