KARNATAKA Bayalata Academy president K R Durgadas said the Mudalapaya Bayalata of Mysuru, Chitradurga and Tumakuru regions are diverse and distinct in their songs and dance styles, and the academy will provide assistance for the revival of these folk art forms.
Inaugurating a two-day seminar on 'Mudalapaya Bayalata Parampare' organised by the Karnataka Bayalata Academy and the Folklore Department of Maharaja's College at Rangayana on Thursday, Durgadas said Bayalata (open-air plays) are a vital force that energises the common people and gives them the courage to express themselves.
