Members of the Karnataka Senapade staged a protest in front of the Old Deputy Commissioner's Office here on Wednesday, condemning the controversial remark made by actor Kamal Haasan about the Kannada language.
They alleged that Kamal Haasan disrespected Kannada by stating that it originated from Tamil. They pointed out that Kannada is an ancient, rich, and classical language with its own independent script and a history spanning thousands of years. The statement made by Haasan was termed highly objectionable and insulting to the pride of millions of Kannadigas
