India-US BTA talks focus on non-tariff measures, technical trade barriers

IN the first round of talks held after the US Supreme Court ruling on Trump-era tariffs, India and the US focused on non-tariff measures, technical barriers to trade, Customs and trade facilitation as part of negotiations for the bilateral trade agreement (BTA), the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.
An Indian delegation led by chief negotiator Darpan Jain visited the US on April 20 to advance discussions on the BTA.
