CHIEF Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar defended the Karnataka government's decision to rename Ramanagara district as Bengaluru South.
Speaking to the media in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said that the State Government has the power to rename districts. Refuting the charges made by Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy that history has been distorted by renaming Ramanagara as Bengaluru South, the CM said that the decision was taken based on public opinion.
