Action comes as neighbouring Kerala is witnessing rise in bird flu cases
Though no cases of bird flu have been reported in Mysuru district, authorities have imposed strict precautionary measures. The virus has been detected in poultry in Raichur's Manvi taluk, Chikkaballapur taluk and Ballari's Sandur taluk, leading to the death of several birds. However, no cases of bird flu have been identified in humans so far in the state.
Despite no symptoms being reported in Mysuru, the district administration, along with the health and family welfare and animal husbandry departments, has intensified surveillance and preventive measures.
