2 Elevated Corridors to Come Up in City

It will help ease traffic congestion; PWD has invited bids from private consultancies to prepare detailed project reports

In a major effort to ease traffic congestion in Mysuru, the Public Works Department (PWD) has proposed two elevated corridors that will connect national highways to a key junction near the Mysuru city railway station in the central business district. If approved, these will be the first elevated corridors in the heritage city which is experiencing rapid growth.

According to PWD officials, one elevated corridor is planned from Field Marshal KM Cariappa Circle (formerly Metropole Circle) on JLB Road to Hinkal Junction, spanning 5.6 km. The second corridor will run from near JSS College on Mysuru-Ooty Road to the junction near the city railway station, covering 4.5 km.
