Funds to be utilised to construct 88 km of railway barricades, 53 km of elephant-proof trenches
IN a significant move to mitigate the rising human-wildlife conflict in and around the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, Male Mahadeshwara Hills, and the Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple forest region, the Karnataka state cabinet has approved an additional allocation of ₹157 crore.
Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister Eshwar B Khandre made the announcement following a cabinet meeting held at Male Mahadeshwara Hills on Thursday.
