MP to seek increase in house purchase cap under PMAY 2.0

STATING that Rs 35 lakh cap fixed for the purchase of a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 is insufficient for a city like Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta said he will take up the issue with the Union government to increase the cap in order to enable more people to avail the benefit under the ambitious scheme.
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Chowta said the scheme will help property buyers in rural areas but not in Mangaluru where the property prices are high. He said even CREADI had flagged the issue and sought to increase the cap.
