Udupi DC says a show-cause notice was issued, but he did not give apt reply
Assistant Commissioner of Kundapur K Maheshchandra was suspended on Sunday from the service, pending inquiry on the charges of dereliction of duty. Mahesh Chandra, who previously served as the Commissioner of Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA), faced scrutiny over the conversion of land use from a green belt to a commercial zone in connection with the construction of a resort in Badanidiyoor gram panchayat in Udupi taluk. Allegations surfaced that this conversion bypassed regulatory provisions, prompting the Udupi MLA to urge strict action and request an inquiry into the matter. However, K Maheshchandra had not given any satisfactory explanation to his disservice.
