K'taka-Goa POE Cracks Down on Illegal Overseas Firms Operating in M'luru City

Avaneesh Shukla, the Protector of Emigrants (POE) for Karnataka and Goa, under the Ministry of External Affairs, visited Mangaluru recently to crack down on illegal overseas recruitment firms operating in the city.
There was credible information that unauthorised interviews were conducted for overseas job placements. Shukla told media persons that two illegal recruitment cases were identified in the city. The city police coordinated with the POE as part of their ongoing efforts to ensure safe and legal migration.
Shukla said that upon being informed of the recruitment drive in Bendoorwell, he immediately travelled to Mangaluru. By the time he reached, the planned interviews got postponed. However, investigation revealed that the agency in question, 'Z-Zone Consultancy', was operating without the mandatory licence required under the Emigration Act, 1983.
