Hemmady Residents Seek Funds to Revive, Restore Neglected Crematorium

Residents of Hemmady and surrounding areas have urged authorities to revive the crematorium located in Santhosh Nagar in Hemmady, Kundapur.
The crematorium here has fallen into disuse due to years of poor maintenance.
With the facility lying in a neglected state, families are forced to take the bodies of their loved ones to Kundapur, located about eight kilometers away.
The crematorium, spread across 23 cents of land, has been non-operational for several years. Shrubs have overgrown the site, and residents allege that portions of the land have been encroached upon by private individuals.
