Crime Against Women Has Increased Under Congress Rule: DK MP

DAKSHINA Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta on Thursday alleged that rape and other crimes against women have increased after the Congress government came to power in the state.
Talking to reporters, he said that according to Home department statistics, 523 rape cases were recorded in 2023-24 out of which 178 rapes took place in Bengaluru. During the same period, he said 6,468 sexual harassment cases took place in the state out of which 1,320 was in Bengaluru. In 2024 till November, Chowta said 540 rape cases took place in the state out of which 166 were in Bengaluru.
