A day after a school building crumbled in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, claiming seven innocent lives, a pall of gloom has descended over Peeplodi village.

- RAJESH ASNANI @ Jaipur

While several households have been touched with grief, Harak Chand is desolate. His only son, 8-year-old Kartik, was crushed in the tragedy.

Kartik, the youngest in the family, and his two sisters studied in the same school. The trio had left for school at 7 am, with the sisters holding their brother's hand as he skipped along. While the sisters were also injured in the accident, Kartik died. Father Harak Chand felt nauseous when he learnt of the death of his only son. He is now admitted in hospital along with his two daughters. One is in critical condition in Jhalawar and the other, Manisha, is in Manohar Thana Hospital.
