Termination of MBBS admission petition rejected

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a plea filed by an MBBS student challenging the termination of his admission in an Odisha-based medical college without prior notice.

The Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of a man for killing his friend in 2006 after finding that the circumstances in the case proved his guilt.

"Each of the circumstances so proved must form a complete chain without any break and clearly point to the guilt of the accused. Merely because there is no evidence of any witness seeing the gun being carried by the appellant (Chetan), it cannot be fatal to the prosecution's case," a bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar noted and dismissed the convict's appeal.

The bench upheld the conviction awarded by the Sessions Court and Karnataka High Court in the case of murder following a dispute over ₹4,000.
