Aavin Announces ₹100 Subsidy for Cattle Feed Bag, Dairy Farmers Want It Doubled

WELCOMING the move of Aavin (Madurai) giving ₹100 subsidy for cattle feed bags costing ₹1,200 from the first week of June, dairy farmers urged the officials to increase the subsidy amount to ₹200 for each cattle feed bag.
M Govindapandian, Tamil Nadu Milk Producers Welfare Association vice president, told TNIE, "Aavin offers ₹32 per litre of milk procured from farmers through various milk cooperative societies in the state. Since Aavin (Madurai) has earned good profit for the past few years, the management has been offering a special incentive of ₹1 per litre, and we are receiving this incentive for the milk supplied in March and April."
