Rahul booked for rape & forced abortion, seeks pre-arrest bail

TIGHTENING the noose around Rahul Mamkootathil, the police slapped non-bailable charges including rape and forced termination of pregnancy against him early Friday even as the Congress MLA remained untraceable.
The police have issued a lookout notice against Rahul assuming that he might try to escape via airports. Meanwhile, the survivor recorded her secret statement before the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Neyyattinkara.
As the writing in the wall became clear, Rahul moved an anticipatory bail petition before the Additional District and Sessions Court here, which is likely to consider the plea on Monday.
