League rift widens in Kuttiady over mandalam general secy's suspension

TENSIONS flared within the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Kuttiady as party workers staged a public demonstration against party general secretary P M A Salam and former MLA Parakkal Abdulla.
The protest was triggered by the suspension of Kuttiady mandalam general secretary K C Mujeeb Rahman, following political turmoil in Velom panchayat.
Mujeeb's suspension came in the wake of the LDF securing the vice-president's post in the panchayat. During the protest, IUML workers raised slogans against the senior leaders, accusing them of mishandling the situation and unfairly targeting Mujeeb.
