|August 08, 2025
In a step towards ensuring healthy development in infants, the Alappuzha Government Medical College Hospital has launched a new initiative titled 'Half-Birthday', the first of its kind in the state.
The programme focuses on babies who have completed six months of age, assessing their growth, development, and nutritional needs beyond breastfeeding.
The initiative was inaugurated at the hospital on Wednesday, with MLA H Salam as the chief guest. A symbolic cake-cutting and porridge-feeding ceremony marked the transition from exclusive breastfeeding to complementary feeding after six months.
