KAPCOS rice mill to be set up in a year

THE Kerala Paddy Procurement, Processing and Marketing Cooperative Society (KAPCOS), an initiative of the state government in the cooperative sector to prevent the exploitation of rice mills during the paddy procurement process, expedited steps to start its first rice mill at Kidangoor in Kottayam.
Giving a major boost to the initiative, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has transferred ₹15.2 crore as mobilisation advance for the society towards constructing the mill. The NBARD had declared financial aid to the tune of ₹76 crore and currently transferred 20% of this allocation.
