Kerala startup develops bioink to 'print' human organs in labs

HOW fantastic would it be if there were a technology that enabled organs to be printed on 3D printers, ready for transplant—and that too using one's own cells!
No more long waits for a suitable donor organ, nor complications such as the threat of rejection and other issues associated with organ transplantation.
Recognising the pivotal role of 3D cell culture and bioprinting in promoting sustainability within research and healthcare sectors, Scire Science Pvt Ltd, a medtech startup founded in 2016, has shifted its focus towards developing biomaterials, bioinks, and scientific research tools for 3D bioprinting applications.
"In a world rapidly transformed by artificial intelligence, a new medical frontier is emerging: the ability to create human organs in the laboratory," says Dr Jikku Jose, founder of the startup.
"This groundbreaking possibility is being driven by 3D bioprinting, an advanced additive manufacturing technology that is reshaping the future of healthcare."
