HAVE you ever had a bone to pick with your partner and wondered when would be the right time for a potentially difficult conversation?
When you know what you want to say might trigger a conflict, and you are worried about it becoming a fight or feel it could blow up, get sidelined, get discounted, or just not be a productive affair, you might hesitate to initiate the conversation.
These are times when you bring up a difficult situation, and you find your partner reacting angrily about the timing of it without addressing the issue itself. Things like, "I was just starting to feel nice and romantic, and you had to bring this up and ruin everything! So typical of you!" Or, "It is Friday night. I have had such a long week. Can't we have one relaxed evening without fighting?" Or, "It is Sunday! Please! Half the religions of the world say we should do nothing today, and you want to fight?"
