5L new jobs, boost to farmers in ₹3.7L cr Gujarat Budget

GUJARAT Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai on Thursday presented a ₹3.70 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2025-26, offering a tax relief of ₹148 crore by reducing the stamp duty on mortgage deeds and the motor vehicle tax on Electric Vehicles (EVs).
In his fourth consecutive budget presentation, Desai outlined key initiatives aimed at benefitting youth, farmers, and women. He announced plans to create five lakh new jobs, reinforcing the state's commitment to expanding its workforce. He also introduced a provision for farmers allowing them to obtain a 'farmer certificate' even if all their land becomes uncultivated.
