Nitin, Ravada & Yogesh Gupta in final list for state police chief post
The New Indian Express Kannur
|June 27, 2025
WITH ONLY four days left for State Police Chief Shaik Darvesh Saheb to step down, the UPSC on Thursday shortlisted DGPs Nitin Agrawal, Ravada A Chandrasekhar and Yogesh Gupta as probables to replace the outgoing officer.
The meeting -- also attended by Shaik and Chief Secretary A Jayathilak -- went by seniority and selected the first three officers in the list forwarded by the state as they also have a clean track record and experience. Now, the onus is on the state government to pick one officer from among the three for the top post.
In all probability, the state government will take a final call on Friday or Saturday, as Shaik is set to retire on Monday.
