Man-made forest in Vadakkumbad emerges as nature's green haven

The initiative, which began in 2017 with support from the social forestry department and the Uthum Koolom Maha Shiva temple trust, has now become a dense patch of greenery, cherished by every resident of Vadakkumbad. As the forest matured, it naturally attracted a variety of birds. Locals consider the forest their own, taking pride in its growth and treating it as a shared legacy. In the sweltering heat, the forest provides much-needed shade and comfort, standing as a symbol of collective effort and environmental commitment.
