Latest technology crest gates may be installed at TB Dam

THE National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) has suggested installation of latest technology crest gates at the Tungabhadra (TB) dam in Hosapete.
The NDSA is a Central government body that regulates and oversees dam safety in India.
Recently, an NDSA team inspected the TB dam and held a meeting with the dam authorities.
It may be recalled here that in the month of August this year, crest gate no. 19 was washed away after the chain got de-linked.
A team of experts repaired the damage portion and installed stoplogs gate within 10 days.
