Implementation of PDP for red chillies approved by govt

MP G Kumar Naik said that the Union government's Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has approved the Government of Karnataka's proposal to implement Price Deficiency Payment (PDP) under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) for red chillies during the 2024-25 season.
Addressing a press conference in Raichur on Friday, Kumar Naik informed that the maximum coverage of quantity for Price Deficiency Payment under MIS of red chillies will be 73,732 MT (25% of 294,928 MT). The Market Intervention Price (MIP) of red chillies will be Rs.10,589.20 per quintal.
He said that the selling price will be decided by the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the principal secretary (agriculture/horticulture/cooperation) of the government of Karnataka.
