The Telangana High Court on Wednesday suspended the order of the CBI Special Court convicting BJP leader Gali Janardhana Reddy and his co-accused in the high-profile Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) illegal mining case and ordered their release on bail.
Justice K Lakshman, hearing the batch of criminal appeals filed on May 19, 2025, during the court's vacation sitting, ordered bail to Janardhan Reddy, a director of OMC who is listed as Accused No. 2 (A-2) in the case. Janardhan Reddy was directed to furnish a personal bond of ₹10 lakh with two sureties to the satisfaction of the trial court. The High Court also suspended the conviction order dated May 6, 2025, which had sentenced him to seven years' imprisonment along with a fine of ₹10,000.
As part of the bail conditions, Janardhana Reddy must not leave the country without prior permission of the court and must refrain from engaging in any criminal activities.
