Compensation: 3 attempt suicide in front of min's office

THREE activists of Karanja Santrastara Horata Samithi (Karanja Project Aggrieved Farmers Action Committee) attempted suicide by consuming poison in front of the office of Bidar District Minister Eshwar Khandre here on Thursday, demanding scientific compensation for the land acquired for Karanja Irrigation Project.

According to sources, action committee president Chandrashekhar Patil Hochaklanalli, activists Rajashekhar Kosam and Rajashekhar Alagol attempted suicide while staging the agitation in front of the office of Minister Eshwar Khandre.

Police rushed to the spot and took them into the vehicle and all the 3 activists, including Chandrashekhar, have been admitted to Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS). Their condition is stable, said Bidar SP Predeep Gunte.
