BEMUL earns ₹13.26 cr profit: MLA

THE Belagavi District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union (BEMUL) has achieved a highest-ever profit of Rs 13.20 crore in one-year term, surpassing expectations, said BEMUL president and Arabhavi MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi.

Speaking at a press conference in the city on Tuesday, he said that the union had posted a profit of Rs 68L last fiscal, whereas this year, the profit reached a whopping Rs 13.20 crore. He attributed the growth to corruption-free governance, zero-fund usage for the annual general meeting, and the decision by board members to forgo TA and DA allowances, among other reform measures.

"The total turnover of BEMUL was Rs 399.50 crore this time, compared to Rs 320.83 crore the previous year, marking a 24 per cent increase. This has been the highest turnover in the union's history. The estimated net profit stands at Rs 13.26 crore, which will be distributed among milk producers, societies, contract workers, and security personnel," Jarkiholi said.
