Babus Cover Leaking Roofs of Govt Offices With Plastic Sheets

CONTINUOUS heavy rain in Belagavi city has damaged the sub-registrar and marriage registrar offices and the office of the district CEN police station.
As a temporary measure, the roofs have been covered with plastic sheets to prevent water leakage and further damage to the century-old building.
The relentless downpour over the past couple of days caused the roof of the government building to cave-in, allowing water to seep inside and disrupt its functioning. Authorities are struggling to control the damage, and the roof has been covered with plastic sheets for the time being. Water continues to leak from the lower parts of the building, making it difficult for government staff to work, particularly those in property and marriage registration services, and record-keeping, sources said.
