Each award carries a cash prize of ₹2 lakh and a citation
THE first series of the Governor's Awards for Excellence 2024—the first of its kind in the history of Raj Bhavan—recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations, was announced on Monday. Details of the award were announced by M Dana Kishore, principal secretary to the governor, at a press meet here.
A total of eight awards were announced in four fields, including Environment Protection, Divyangjan Welfare, Sports & Games and Culture, for individuals and organisations in the state working for the betterment of society. In addition, the three new categories—education, women empowerment and child welfare—will be introduced in the next year's series, said Dana Kishore.
