CM vows to work for upliftment of tribals

CHIEF Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday showered sops on the tribals, including establishment of a special study circle for their benefit.

Speaking at a special meeting he held with tribal organisations and leaders at the Secretariat here, the chief minister announced that the state government would observe birth and death anniversaries of tribal warrior Komuram Bheem as a state function.

The also directed Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari to immediately issue orders to this effect.

The tribal leaders briefed the CM about the problems they have been facing, including lack of transportation facilities, agriculture, drinking water supply, education, employment and financial issues as well as cases registered against them.

Revanth instructed the officials to conduct a comprehensive study and submit a report to resolve all tribal issues at the earliest.

Assuring the tribal associations that he would hold a meeting with them once in four months, he advised them to bring all their issues directly to his notice.
