SEZ for Hubballi Goods Cluster: An Effort to Create Ecosystem: Joshi

According to Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, and New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, awarding Special Economic Zone status for producing electronic goods at the Hubballi Durable Goods Cluster Private Limited, located at Itigatti village on the outskirts of Hubballi-Dharwad, was an effort to create an ecosystem for investments in the electronic sector in the region.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Minister Joshi said that the SEZ status could help cut regulatory delays and reduce compliance burden for the companies and also facilitate them to export goods by exploiting various tax breaks being given by the government. "The production at the 28-acre Electronic Goods SEZ is likely to begin by next year as necessary infrastructure will be created by then," he added.
