ARAB countries welcomed an extremely brief remark from President Donald Trump indicating he has backed away from his plan to depopulate Gaza.

Trump responded "Nobody's expelling any Palestinians," to a reporter on Wednesday before asking her where she worked and implying it was a dumb question.
US allies Egypt and Jordan seized on those four words and released statements welcoming the remarks. Both had rejected Trump's earlier suggestion that they accept large numbers of Palestinian refugees.
