Lobbying begins for naming Gadag's new railway station

DAYS after Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Gadag's redeveloped railway station under the Union government's Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a race has now begun among the devotees and followers of several prominent personalities who are demanding that the new station should be named after their favourite leader or seer.
Those in the race are devotees of musician and seer Pandit Puttaraj Gavai, fans of legendary vocalist Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and followers of the pioneer of cooperative movement Siddanagouda Patil, among others.
Many devotees, fans and followers of these great personalities have already met Union minister Pralhad Joshi to press for their demand and are now collecting public opinion on the same.
The new Gadag Railway is upgraded with lifts, escalators, and extended platforms with modern rooftops.
