Kali River Bed Witnesses Indiscriminate Illegal Sand Mining

VILLAGERS of Khargejuga near Karwar have appealed to the district administration to take measures to stop the indiscriminate sand mining in the Kali river bed. With the monsoon still continuing, the Khargejuga village about 10 km away from Karwar town is witnessing rampant illegal sand mining where at least a dozen boats are involved in sand mining by unknown persons while the lease holders who have the lease for sand mining are still waiting for the monsoon to end.
