CLAIMING that the internal squabbling would grow and prevent the Congress government in the state from completing its term, BJP MP and former CM Basavaraj Bommai said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah might be firmly stuck to his position, but internal unrest within the party was escalating, with leaders jostling to get to the posts of chief minister and deputy chief ministers.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, Bommai said there was discontent within the Congress ranks, with leaders eager to replace Siddaramaiah. "Siddaramaiah is glued to his chair with the strength of Fevicol," he remarked, adding that Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has been attempting to unseat him, while Home Minister G Parameshwara seems uncertain about his role. He remarked that the increasing internal strife will eventually become a major issue that will destabilise the government.
