India Bloc Demands Halt to SIR, Says Data 'Flawed'

'Revision not a correction exercise, will lead to exclusion of 2 cr voters'

WITH over 65 lakh voters at the risk of exclusion after the first phase of the Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, the INDIA bloc parties on Sunday asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to stop the SIR process immediately, alleging that the data is 'flawed'.

At a joint conference held by Opposition alliance partners in Bihar, including Congress, RJD, CPI(ML), and CPI(M), the leaders launched a scathing attack on the ECI, saying that the SIR is based on 'opacity' and termed it 'institutional arrogance'.
