No govt ban on non-veg food on I-Day: Fadnavis

Amid the uproar over closure of slaughterhouses and meat shops on August 15, ordered by certain Maharashtra civic authorities, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday clarified that the government has not imposed any ban on non-veg consumption on the occasion of Independence Day.
"People are free to eat what they want. We had not taken any decision of imposing a ban on eating non-veg," Fadnavis said, feigning ignorance about the existence of a 37-year-old government resolution allowing closure of abat
