Implement fellowship for scholars: Colleges urge BU

CITING the former vice-chancellor's assurance, principals of Coimbatore Government Arts and Science Colleges have requested the Bharathiar University to implement fellowship programme for PhD research scholars.
They alleged that after the V-C's tenure ended, the vice-chancellor committee failed to implement fellowships.
A government college principal who did not wish to be named told TNIE that in April 2022, former V-C P Kaliraj announced a fellowship for PhD research scholars of government arts and science colleges under Bharathiar University. He had taken steps to form a committee and decided to offer a research fellowship for ₹10,000 per month to two PhD scholars from each government college using the university fund.
