SENIOR Congress leaders on Tuesday strongly attacked BJP leaders in Gujarat, the party's traditional stronghold, over key national and international issues, including the rise in LPG prices and U.S. tariffs on Indian exports.

They were participating in a two-day landmark Congress Working Committee session in Ahmedabad, which began on April 8. Linking regional concerns to the national narrative, the leaders also turned up the heat on the central BJP government, questioning its stance on key issues.

"This is the land of Gandhi, land of Patel. Congress is holding a key convention here after 64 years," Sachin Pilot said.

"To broaden our ideology, connect with people, and take on the BJP-NDA, inside and outside Parliament, we are gearing up under Rahul Gandhi's leadership," he added.
