Ban on tourism lifts at Hogenakkal, but coracle operators boycott

AFTER 19 days of intense flooding in Hogenakkal, the inflow in the Cauvery reduced to 24,000 cusecs on Sunday.
Collector R Sadheesh lifted the ban on tourism in Hogenakkal, but coracle operators refused to heed the lifted ban and staged a one-day boycott. Over 428 registered coracle operators sought for their three-point demand to be implemented. Coracle operators had urged the administration to allow coracle operations if inflow levels ranged from 30,000 to 50,000 cusecs in Hogenakkal.
