237 Foreigners Deported From India Since 2022, DGP Tells Court

The DGP informed the Madurai Bench of the Madras HC that 237 foreigners, including 110 Bangladeshis and 91 Sri Lankan Tamils, were deported to their countries from 2022 until May 25, 2025.
A division bench comprising Justices S M Subramaniam and A D Maria Clete was hearing a PIL filed by K K Ramesh seeking action against "illegal" foreigners — particularly from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and African nations — overstaying in India after the expiry of their visas.
The petitioner prayed for their deportation from India to their respective countries.
