India seeks stern action over EAM security breach

INDIA on Friday reiterated its demand urging the UK to take action against the pro-Khalistan groups responsible for breaching the security of External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar in London, saying the incident highlighted the "licence" given to such forces.
"While we have noted the statement issued by the UK Foreign Office on the matter, our view of its sincerity would depend on the action taken against culprits on this and previous occasions," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
The incident occurred when a group of pro-Khalistan extremists tried to disrupt Jaishankar's visit for a discussion at Chatham House in London. The breach took place as the EAM was leaving the venue after the event.
