DKS Seeks ₹1.5 Lcr From Centre To Transform B'luru

DEPUTY Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide Rs 1.5 lakh crore in central funding to execute priority infrastructure projects aimed at transforming Bengaluru into a "global metropolis", here on Sunday.
He submitted a detailed letter to the PM, who was in Bengaluru to inaugurate Namma Metro's Yellow Line and other projects, which outlined major proposals under the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) to address the city's pressing challenges in mobility, water supply, waste management, drainage and housing. Key projects include construction of urban tunnels and elevated corridors along former national highway stretches to ease traffic congestion, estimated at Rs 41,780 crore, and additional elevated corridors on arterial roads costing Rs 15,000 crore. He also sought support for the Rs 27,000-crore Peripheral Ring
